Educating our specialty…meeting of the minds…
  • To support your lifelong learning, we offer special member prices on an array of educational tools, some of them with CME credit. Formats include our Home Study Course, slide lectures, audiocassettes, videos, publications, and e-learning.
  • Most members receive Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, our monthly scientific journal, by mail and online at no extra charge. Use the Journal Online to search for articles since 1994, with full text and figures, cross-linked to articles in other journals, or to search in Medline and other key databases.
  • ENTLink Portal, our members-only free gateway to the Internet, offers fast access to our rich resources and Internet information aimed at busy specialists. Communicate and collaborate with colleagues in ENTLink communities.
  • Each fall, our Annual Meeting and OTO EXPO is the world's largest yearly gathering of our specialty. It's your chance to keep current, network with colleagues, and earn CME credit at discounted rates. Our huge exhibit hall showcases the latest technology, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
  • As a member, you can register at special rates for workshops on practice management and coding.

Granting resources…preserving our heritage…

  • We sponsor about $500,000 each year in awards and training grants for biomedical, clinical, and health services research. It's an unrivaled opportunity to take part in national multicenter studies that evaluate medical and patient outcomes of otolaryngic diseases and treatments.
  • Find funding sources and meetings of interest to otolaryngologist investigators and their scientific collaborators in our annual Research Resource Directory.
  • At the John Q. Adams Center for the History of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, our exhibit gallery and study center, you can view and research our historical collections-surgical instruments, papers, memorabilia, and more.

Managing your practice and your career…

  • To cope with rapid changes in your practice, take advantage of our invaluable resources and free consulting on day-to-day business and reimbursement challenges-such as relative values for reimbursement, CPT codes, HCFA regulations, expenses, and scope of practice.
  • The Academy has been acutely aware of the alarming rate at which malpractice premiums are rising in many states. Our colleagues in some states find themselves without a company willing to insure them at all. Some of our members have felt compelled to stop providing high-risk services; others have found it necessary to relocate their practice to another state or retire prematurely. To help provide relief to our members, we have sponsored The Doctors Company (TDC) offer to provide medical malpractice insurance to our members.
  • ENT Careers is our latest online tool designed expressly for our specialty. Whether you wish to post or land a new job, it's free for job seekers.
  • You can link your practice website visitors to the Academy's public website for the latest health information on ear, nose, and throat disorders. Download a custom icon today.

Delivering free publications and timely news…

  • Our colorful Bulletin keeps you up to date each month on vital issues that impact our specialty. It's packed with insider news you can use-about practice management, health policy, and continuing education.
  • As a member, you can use our handy online directory, Find a Colleague- by name, city, zip code, area code, state, or country. In addition, you receive a 300-page printed member directory.

Spotlighting otolaryngology…

  • To help you reach out to your patients, referring physicians, healthcare professionals, and your community, we offer you sizable discounts on our patient leaflets and videos.
  • You can syndicate all of our valuable patient leaflets to your own individual or practice websites through an annual Patient Information Website License.
    • Our ENT Outreach program equips you to promote our specialty to primary care providers, managed care companies, and the public. "Find an Otolaryngologist," our free online service, lets the public search for you by name, zip code, city, area code, state, or country.
    • To educate national and local media on your scope of care, we mount public service campaigns. We publicize our members' practices by distributing health tips to the media on otolaryngic treatment. Clinical Otolaryngology On-Line (COOL) and other free online tools help educate other physicians and healthcare professionals.

Fighting for our specialty…mobilizing the grassroots…

    • As the voice of all otolaryngologists, we monitor and shape health and public policies that affect our specialty. We represent you on Capitol Hill, before federal and state agencies, to the private sector, and through the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, and specialty coalitions. ENT PAC, our Political Action Committee enhances our presence in Congress.
    • Through our Board of Governors (BOG), which links our Board of Directors and grassroots members, we represent state and national otolaryngic societies to coordinate legislative and public education campaigns.
