2011 BOG Spring Meeting

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

The 2011 Board of Governors Spring Meeting will take place on Saturday, March 26 to Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Embassy Suites Hotel Alexandria Old Town. Registration for the meeting is complimentary to all AAO-HNS members. This meeting is one of many Academy member benefits, allowing members an opportunity to network and engage in peer-to-peer interactions with eminent leaders in the field for FREE!

Attending the BOG Spring Meeting allows attendees to:

  • Partake in exceptional presentations from prominent figures in government and in otolaryngology
  • Engage in leadership development
  • Learn more about volunteer involvement within the Academy
  • Witness how the field is being represented on Capitol Hill and how members can make their voice heard!

Meeting Location: The meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites Old Town Alexandria, 1900 Diagonal Road, Alexandria, VA 22314. The hotel is conveniently located less than 5 miles and two Metro stops away from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and steps away from the King Street Metro Station and Alexandria Amtrak Station. The Embassy Suites Old Town Alexandria is only 20 minutes from monuments, museums, and power centers of Washington, DC. Get around easily with Alexandria's free King Street Trolley and Water Taxi to National Harbor and Georgetown.

Hotel Accommodations: HOUSING IS NOW CLOSED! If you still need to make a hotel reservation, please call 1-800 EMBASSY and ask the reservation specialist for the group name AAO-HNS/F Board of Governors Meeting and use group code OAA to try to get the group rate.   

A room block has been established for BOG Spring Meeting attendees who are planning on staying at the hotel for the meeting. AAO-HNS has confirmed a discounted group rate of $149++s/d per night at Embassy Suites Old Town Alexandria. The hotel offers daily complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast in the mornings and a manager's reception with beverages and light snacks in the evening.

Resident Leadership Grants to attend the BOG Spring Meeting: Applications are no longer being accepted. AAO-HNS residents in good standing are eligible to apply for a $350 grant to help defray the cost of attending the 2011 BOG Spring Meeting. Ten resident leadership grants will be available for this meeting. Please click here to print out and complete the resident leadership application and submit by the deadline, February 25, 2011 to bog@entnet.org or fax to 1-703-684-4288.  

 

Joint Surgical Advocacy Conference (JSAC) REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Make your voice heard on Capitol Hill by joining with other surgical societies in Washington, DC from March 27-29, 2011. JSAC offers networking opportunities, advocacy trainings, and pre-scheduled meetings with federal legislators and/or their staffs. This year, JSAC advocacy training will include a new "role playing" exercise to prepare members for their Capitol Hill visits AND specialized advocacy training for residents will be offered! The early registration fee for residents is $50. After February 21, 2011, fees will increase to $75. Visit the AAO-HNS JSAC webpage for conference details and online registration.
